Having surgery is no fun, so I hope some photos from summer camp will cheer you up!
Evening light on the pines
Cleary I am having the WORST HARD TIME in this photo
Giant saw at Greenwood Fest
Ruth and Ariel learning to carve spoons
Apparently in woodworking culture you have to give away the first spoon that you carve. The campers gave us a spoon for everyone on crew, and some of them are their first ever spoons.
Windy day at camp
Sam Howe rigging the sailboat
Reading on the dock on our day off
"You have to DOCKument the occasion."
This is my porch!
Sam reading camper evals in their potwasher clothes, including the donut pants!
Lounging in the crew room, aka croom.
We played the hippie game ever - SAVE THE WHALES. It was really overcomplicated. Then the second half of the rulebook was just a pamphlet about whales.
Ruth's whale riding the Magic Barnacle. We saved seven of the eight whale species but humpbacks went extinct.
My friend Mel was here for Swing into Summer!
Still figuring out how to take pictures of dancing.
Harris busts a move! It's hard to shoot the mix of sunlight and indoor light. I want to borrow another crew member's 50mm lens and see if that works better in the dim pavilions.
This bittersweet vine is taking over my cabin. Sam and I cut a bunch of it today and pulled a bunch from under the floorboards. A couple more days and it would have been growing INSIDE my cabin.
The extension tubes Harris gave me! Here are some macro photos I took with it:
Moss on the shore path
Dangling caterpillar friend
We took a crew trip to Boston this week!
Boston's public library - didn't we come here once on vacation?
The library was like an art museum! This is a stunning ceiling mural of the Sir Galahad and the Holy Grail. Here are Bean and Sam enjoying the art.
Giant read-aloud chair in the children's library
This week is international folk dance week! I like all the circle dances. They did a dance to Hine Ma Tov that I wanted to take a video of to show you, but my battery was too low, so here's a photo of it. Also the dress theme was Hawaiian.
Sunset on Long Pond
Get well soon!
